Through prolonged observation, shifting light, moving water and settling snow inspire layers of paint that both conceal and reveal, reflecting impermanence. Every decision emerges intuitively, responding to the washes, textures and linework of acrylics and mixed media. These marks reveal subtle shifts and details across the layered surface. My work responds to the experience of impermanence felt in my body, not just observed in the landscape. Observation becomes embodied as the paintings hold change within their layers rather than imposing control.
